I know it’s been a month since I posted. I know that overall, it’s been a sparse season around here. I know there are lots of things I could try: posting every day, blog challenges, quick hits, not waiting for inspiration to come and simply putting down the words, one by one, until the inspiration is already there somehow.
There have been plenty of times that I’ve thought about posting. Just today, I read an article about why no one should be going to graduate school and thought, “Graduate school changed my life, in so many ways; I can’t imagine who I’d be if I hadn’t gone. I could totally post about that.” A few days before today, I finished one of my Christmas books, The Casual Vacancy and thought about writing up a review. A few weeks before that, I finished a great book about teaching, With Rigor for All, Second Edition: Meeting Common Core Standards for Reading Literature
, and thought I could write about that. I thought about writing a post about how the school transition has been going for us, and one about some of the recipes I’ve tried recently that I’ve had good luck with, and the bearded dragon lizards we borrowed for the winter break from the science teacher.
Maybe I’ll write one of those posts soon. Maybe I’ll make some resolutions, like I usually do, and write a year-end post summing up the year. Maybe sometime soon, there will be a breakthrough. When that happens, you’ll be the first to know.
