Who I Am and What I Like: I live in a hundred-year-old house with my family and our cats, Ladybird and Rosemary. I like watching movies, listening to music, and reading good books across all genres. I’m always on the lookout for a good baking recipe. I’m a presidential/historical biography nerd. Someday, I’d like to know how to play the piano sitting in my living room– it’s on my life list. I also spend a lot of time thinking about teaching and education. I’m a writer and poet. I am not perfect, nor do I aspire to be.
Where, When and How I Work: I hold Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in American Studies. I have taught courses in multiculturalism, popular culture, fine arts, literature and media to a wide variety of student populations. I have currently come to rest teaching English at a wonderful single-sex independent school, which I really enjoy, and where I think a lot about best practices for teaching with technology. I also work as a freelance writer, and have published poetry, essays, reviews and features at a variety of print and online publications.
